Mfalme is Swahili for "king", a fitting name for this little 3D cross stitched king of beasts. His coat is fully cross stitched and his mane and tail tip are also made of embroidery floss applied with a turkey work stitch. His mate, Malkia is also available in my shop. He is prepared to stalk his way into your home and heart, and to show off your stitching skills.

Most lion dolls are in one way or another inaccurate.  I have tried to solve that problem with this little "big cat".  His markings and eyes are what you will see on an actual lion. And what feline would be complete without paw pads? Plus if desired, you can make his tail poseable. Who says that cross stitch is only good for flat things?  Now you can stitch a doll using cross stitch for the details.

3D cross stitch isn't as difficult as you may think. It is stitched flat, like a normal piece but as a bunch of small pieces. This animal is stitched as 19 pieces which are then cut out and hand sewn together.  Full assembly directions with illustrations are included.

The pattern was hand designed by a professional artist/crafts person. Finished size is approximately 8" tall x 11" long from nose tip to back of tail when worked on 14 count fabric.  He is composed of 13 colors.

PDF will be downloadable when the sale is complete. To download visit "My Account" > "My Orders" > "Downloads"

THIS IS NOT A KIT. THIS IS NOT A FINISHED PIECE.

Each pattern contains:

* Color picture of the finished pattern pieces
* Pattern in black and white symbols on several pages
* DMC floss list
* Full stitch count
* Floss use yardage
* Directions with photos of how to assemble the animal

Design contains some fractional stitches and backstitches, appropriate for an intermediate stitcher. Pattern may be worked on different count fabric which will result in a different sized finished product.

All cross stitch patterns are copyright Robin Hobbs and are for personal use only. Reselling or redistributing patterns in any way is prohibited, unless given written permission by designer. Although, one finished work from my patterns are yours to do with as you please.

Zipper the Zebra Doll 3D Cross Stitch Animal Sewing Pattern PDF Download

I love zebras! They have the sweetest faces. I love their markings and their long ears. So, of course, I had to make one in 3d cross stitch.I like accuracy in plush animals and have made the markings and eyes like that of real zebras.  Why use cross stitch?  Because cross stitch allows me to make tiny details that would be difficult to do..
