A bit of silly geeky fun here. Especially for the mathematicians.

The witch of Agnesi is a curve that is defined by using a fixed circle, a point O is placed on the circle. For any other point A on the circle, the line OA is drawn. Point M is opposite to O. Line OA intersects the tangent of M at point N. The line parallel to OM and through N, and the line perpendicular to OM and through A cross at P. As A is moved around the circle, the path of P draws a curve.

Maria Gaetana Agnesi published her famous treatise in 1748, in which the curve was named 'versiera', but through a mistranslation it became known as the "witch of Maria Agnesi".

This piece can be worked with or without the text. This will of course give you different finished image sizes.

This pattern was hand designed by a professional artist/crafts person
Finished size is approximately 10.5" wide x 7.25" high when worked on 14 count fabric (144 x 99 stitches) when using the text. Without the text finished size is 10.5" x 5.75" (144 x 80 stitches) The image is composed of 10 colors. THIS IS NOT A KIT.

Each pattern contains:

* Color picture of the finished image
* Pattern in black and white symbols on several pages
* DMC floss list
* Full stitch count
* Floss use yardage

Design contains some fractional stitches and backstitches, appropriate for an intermediate stitcher. Pattern may be worked on different count fabric which will result in a different sized finished product.
