I swear this little hedgehog won't prick you with his spines. They are actually embroidery floss! So Pete isn't prickly at all.

I like accuracy in plush animals and have made the markings and eyes like that of a real hedgehog. Why use cross stitch? Because cross stitch allows me to make tiny details that would be difficult to do by another method. And to recreate the spines, I used a blend of flosses and the "turkey work" stitch. Who says that cross stitch is only good for flat things? Now you can stitch a doll using cross stitch for the details.

The animal is stitched as 14 pieces which are then cut out and sewn together. Full assembly directions and turkey work instructions with illustrations are included.

This pattern was hand designed by a professional artist/crafts person
Finished size is approximately 2" tall x 3.25" wide from nose tip to tail tip when worked on 14 count fabric.  The image is composed of 11 colors.
