These patterns are a faithful reproduction of a 1939 set of transfers.
Each pattern depicts Mammy doing a chore on a specific day of the week.
These would be great stitched on tea towels, either even weave fabric or
using waste canvas.
I cant bear to part with the original (it was my mother-in-laws), but thought it would be nice to modify them to counted cross stitch. The description on the back of the original envelope reads, Mammys schedule for the weeks work is gaily carried out in cross-stitch on a whole set of day-of-the-week towels. Home makers will enjoy her jovial spirit as she goes about her daily duties. Each design is cleverly worked out in several bright colors. It doesnt take long to work the entire set of towels, and thay are nice for gifts.

These patterns were hand designed by a professional artist/crafts person. Finished size is approximately 4.5x 3.75 when worked on 14 count fabric (64 x 51 stitches) with some patterns being a bit smaller. The images are composed of 8 colors. This is NOT a kit.
Each pattern contains:
* Color picture of the finished image
* Pattern in black and white symbols on several pages
* Floss list in your choice of DMC, Anchor or Madeira
(if DMC is NOT wanted, specify preference when ordering)
* Full stitch count
* Floss use yardage
Design contains no fractional stitches and no backstitches, appropriate for a beginning stitcher. Pattern may be worked on different count fabric which will result in a different sized finished product.
